VGen Talents | The best solvers of the Startup Experience Challenge

The "Startup Experience Challenge" launched by Nutrirbene closed on January 15, during which students and young innovators challenged each other and learned what it's like to work in a nascent startup. Participants challenged themselves in two areas: Marketing and Business Development. The winners were, respectively, Alice Caito and Susanna Borsatti.

Nutrirbene is a platform born from the desire to offer food products with a high nutritional profile selected through a Scientific Protocol on "Cognitive Nutrition", which highlights products from a totally Italian supply chain and whose purchase helps to support Italian companies during the post-COVID economic crisis. Nutrirbene therefore offers a service of prevention, searching, through the use of artificial intelligence, among the selected products, for foods that are not harmful for the most common pathologies, and of selection, which takes place on the basis of the nutritional parameters of quality foods, produced by totally Italian supply chains. All this in an innovative way, sharing information and organizing events to spread the Knowledge Based Nutrition.

The "Startup Experience Challenge" therefore aimed to challenge students and young innovators to devise a marketing or business development strategy.

Alice Caito, carrying out the analysis of the target audience, identified as users of the platform users aged between 25 and 54 years and noted that 72% of them use only mobile devices, so she developed a marketing strategy suggesting to create an app for smartphones, thus facilitating the use of the platform for users. Alice then thought about a communication strategy for different channels (Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Google ADS, Blogs and events) and a launch campaign with conversational tones, able to convey the values of the brand.

"Always get myself in the game. That's my mood in life. I love challenges, trying new experiences and getting to know different contexts. With its challenges, VGen constantly gives me new stimuli to grow professionally and otherwise. I immediately found the Nutrirbene challenge interesting because it touches on topics that are dear to me: a healthy lifestyle, the quality of products made in Italy and particular attention to the treatment of diseases through food. I can't wait to face the next challenge!"

Susanna Borsatti presented a detailed analysis of the market and of Nutrirbene's competitors; she elaborated a strategy of supplier acquisition based on a series of advantages for the latter, including visibility, enhancement of their product, increase in sales and access to a wider market and a strategy to acquire 200 customers in 3 months that includes offers, consultancy, online events, collaborations with food bloggers and influencers, immersive videos and viral posts. He also presented a new line of business, proposing as a new product organic food for animals, and new services such as a wearable tool for health monitoring, the use of a system memory for calculating the impact of transport and a food delivery service in cities.

"It was a unique experience, formative personally and professionally. It allowed me to leverage the knowledge I learned in college and put it to work in solving a real-world case study related to an area of great interest to me, entrepreneurship."

We congratulate Alice and Susanna for their winning solutions and we would like to thank all the students and young talents who put themselves on the line by participating in the Challenge.
